ABOUT | LIGHT TRANSFIGURATION . 2007-2008
The "light" photographs illustrate the movement of light. I was fascinated at capturing the lights’ energy and motion in time – swirling, dancing, dashing – and being able to keep this movement in the stillness of photograph. The photographs capture forever in time the lights’ external energy and luminescence in the outer world, for everyone to perceive with their own eyes.
I have manipulated each fixed photograph into a new image, to recreate the lights’ original essence of motion and radiance in these new images. The lights begin to radiate their energy freely once again, creating a sense of movement in the still image. This change also represents the transformation of the lights’ energy and beauty reflected in the inner world within, how I envision the lights’ internal energy through the mind’s eye.
Although the photographs have undergone a transformation to create new images, they are in fact from the same source. Nothing has been added or taken away - the two are essentially one, changed in form, offering different perceptions.
